Most of us use toothpaste every day. Have you ever stopped to think about how it is packaged?
Toothpaste is often an overpackaged product, usually sold in a tube with an outer carton. The outer carton helps to protect the toothpaste and makes it stand out on a store shelf, but most people throw it away as soon as they start using the toothpaste. It’s easy to switch to another toothpaste brand when seeing a different toothpaste product on promotion in-store.
Regardless of the toothpaste product, we want a toothpaste pack that is;
- easy to use (can open/close with one hand, stand on its own);
- hygienic (by being able to stay clean, without spilling over or drying out); and
- kind to the planet!
Nowadays, people are increasingly conscious of brands and their impact on the planet. They are fully aware of the impact of plastics, and they love brands who are taking bold steps toward reducing or recycling plastic packaging. However, customers will not sacrifice quality or convenience for the promise of a lower environmental footprint. This is a challenge for toothpaste brands that look the same (in terms of packaging) and are used in the same way.
